I is for INHUMANS!
Day 9 of our journey into an entirely re-imagined Fantastic Four universe!!

Finally! this may be the longest I’ve ever spent on a single image. sorry for the delay, phew!

In my eyes, the Inhumans as a race of spandex wearing royalty is a limited way to display the concept. What if the terrigenesis, the kree modifications, the isolation in the Himalayas and eventually the moon all boiled down to this super-culture we deemed too alien to work? These people are the Latin of culture, everything derives from their minds and wars and sins. What would reed richards do when he trekked with his family only to meet this silent king, their backwards ways deeming the fantastic four a threat? what then when the only advantage the four have, their powers, becomes something obsolete as abilities, in THIS culture, are far, far too common?

I would kill to read about the Inhumans, the culture and conflict, the history and what it is that made them just so “Inhuman” in the first place.

I tried to fit the entire royal family in, pulling fashion and tradition from different cultures from the furthest we historically know about to modern sensibilities to show just how far the reach of these people has affected us all. I tried to make them all mixed races as well, to avoid the idea that, somehow, a secret tribe in the Himalayas was also distinctly American-looking.

My hope is if you go back at look at Crystal from the series you’ll see how she fits in as well.

I’ll stop now since I could talk about this for hours, and I’d rather see you all discuss the Inhumans that listen to myself type. J in our alphabet is going to be our favorite family lawyer! so stay tuned for what I think will be a super strong piece
